Carol Shwidock, a Yoga Therapist/Reiki Master and owner of Harmony Yoga Studio in Stamford CT is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Instructor since 2004. With additional certifications in Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky, Yoga and Ayurvedya with Alana Greenberg and Five Elements Yoga with Jennifer Reis Carol has also studied with Shiva Rea, Embodying the Flow and Yoga for Emotional Balance with Bo Forbes, Five Elements with Todd Norian and more.
Carol has worked in the field of rehabilitation as an Occupational Therapist for over Twenty Five years. She has worked successfully with students dealing with(healing from) diagnoses such as Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Multiple Scelrosis, Back Pain, Migraines, ALS, Guillain Barre, Arthritis, Hip Replacements, Breast Cancer and Chronic Tension. She is available for Private Therapeutic Yoga, Yoga parties, Corporate Yoga as well group therapeutic yoga classes held at Harmony Yoga Studio.
In 2011 Carol donated 60% of her liver to her husband who needed a liver transplant. From that experience she created Bedside Yoga DVD currently being sold at Kripalu and featured on Shalom TV. Sadly in November of 2012 her husband passed on as his Auto Immune Liver Disease returned. In April 2014 Yoga for Lost and Found was born, a workshop designed for those healing from loss. Whether it is a loved one passing, divorce, losing a job or changes in physical abilities, loss is part of life. Carol Shwidock’s personal journey with loss has led her to a greater understanding of how to help others maneuver thru these days. Kripalu Yoga, Five Elements Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Dance and Group Integration is explored to help students open to the place of acceptance and joy that is always inside!
