Thich Nhat Hanh passed on 1/22/22 at the age of 95. He was a buddhist monk that wrote many books and taught us many powerful teachings, “one of the world’s most influential Zen masters. One of my favorite quotes of his is “NO MUD, NO LOTUS” Do you know what that means? The beautiful lotus flower can not grow without the mud…meaning without being grounded in the difficult things, the sufferings, we may not really appreciate the joys, the happiness. We, as a civilization, have had much suffering over the past 2 years..is it really going to be March 2022 soon OMG?!
What are the things that you are appreciating now?
Can you stay grounded in the energies of the earth and water (the Mud) and feel yourself rooted and present, ready to open to Spring?
I know I can!
Right now I am so appreciating that we can Zoom Harmony Yoga! This morning there was so much black ice and the first teaching of yoga is AHIMSA, refraining from harm in what you do, what you say and how you think…so in the essence of Ahimsa and doing no harm so we don’t fall or slip or slide, we held class online, and it was very fulfilling…very grateful,
We got into the mud of the poses and we opened.
